“What’s that strange noise” said Sarah. While they were walking in the field “I’m
not sure” said Milly, but it sounds a bit like a hurt bird. So the two girls followed
the noise until they came to a big, mossy, old, tree that had fallen down. “Oh no”
said Sarah sadly, “there is a little bird stuck under that”. “Let’s help it out”
explained Milly. Sarah and Milly lifted up the old tree until they could see the bird.
It was vey calm and gentle so they wiped it down carefully. Then they could see
the bird a bit more and it was beautiful. A few minutes later they left the bird
down so that it can fly away, ‘when it just wouldn’t take off’.
