Climate Change

Climate change is a problem, but what are things businesses can do to help stop it?

Fossil fuels- to stop using so much fossil fuels they could put solar panels on the roof of their building and, If they had a company cars they could turn them electric.

reusable bags- instead of selling plastic or even paper bags at checkout, they could sell reusable bags.

use less energy- Turn off lights and appliances when you don’t need them. Replace light bulbs with LEDs or other low-energy lights.

Those are things businesses can do to help erase their carbon footprint. I hope in the future businesses will be more eco friendly.

Ruby’s Quote

Ruby is a 9 year old girl who wrote to the government last March. Ruby was keen to help the environment when she is older. Her dream job is to become the President and hopefully help other people realise how important it is to save our world. The Government saw Ruby’s letter and asked her to be in a short video about climate change. Ruby was delighted, she was definitely going to do it! Ruby’s job was to write a sentence or two about our planet and climate change and here is what she said- “Who likes smoke when we can have clean air, who likes rubbish when we can have water, who likes bush fires when we can have our planet back. Pls help our planet by doing what’s best for everyone”!!

POOF she disappeared!

Wendy was a normal 11 year old girl. She went school, like normal. She ate dinner like normal, and went to bed, like normal.  That was until the next morning, when she opened her curtains, she looked across the big, blue sea. There was something big, something she had never seen before. It was an ICE CAP!  It must have washed up from the shore. After a moment of silence, she look down at her fluffy dog Ziggy and said ” what do you think will happen if the ice caps completley melted”. They ran down on to the beach. When they got there, Wendy touched the ice cap and POOF she disappeared!!

Castaway by Lilimai R

Yup that’s me stuck on an ice cap you are probably wonder how I got here. So I’m a scientist and I’ve been on this ice cap for 2 days and I’m pretty bored but I’m trying to find out what would happen if they disappeared. Climate change is the reason they would disappear. What would happen if they disappeared all the animals that live on them will die and they are ready going extinct and animals are really important they help keep trees alive then the trees keep them and us alive. Well I have to go. Goodbye see you.

up the mountain by Meabh c

This was it. This is the last mountain we could climb. If the water level went any higher we would be doomed. Carl, the oldest person in our group said we have to climb the tallest mountain in the talked about how sea-rise wasn’t important to most people before the scientists had discovered the ice caps were melting, and how people should do their part for the world. Once we reached the top world. We were climbing Mount Everest, because of global warming it was sunny up there now. Carl we set up camp and waited for it to come

Swim!

I saw an ice float about another 20 minute swim away. I saw my Mam with my 2 little sisters a little bit behind me. I began to swim as fast as I could towards it. I eventually reached it. I climbed up onto the ice float. This was the only one around for miles. I shook my thick layer of polar bear fur. Just then Mam, Emmy and Cindy climbed onto the float. Mam looked very worried. We had been swimming for hours and there had been no sign of any icefloats. There was no sign of the polar Ice. Mam looked at me and I knew from the way she looked at me something was not right.
